T.V.
It satellite links,
Our United States of Unconsciousness,
Apathetic therapeutic and extremely addictive,

The methadone metronome pumping out,
150 channels 24 hours a day,
You can flip through all of them,
And still there’s nothing worth watching.
- Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, Television, Drug of a Nation

This design explores our modern culture and the the role that television plays as the opiate of the masses:

When you watch TV, brain activity switches from the left to the right hemisphere. In fact, experiments conducted by researcher Herbert Krugman showed that while viewers are watching television, the right hemisphere is twice as active as the left, a neurological anomaly. The crossover from left to right releases a surge of the body’s natural opiates: endorphins, which include beta-endorphins and enkephalins. Endorphins are structurally identical to opium and its derivatives (morphine, codeine, heroin, etc.).

Add to that almost all mainstream news we receive through TV is filtered through the filter deemed acceptable by the 7 private-sector media corporations and their advertisers.

Even as early as the 1950's the CIA was manipulating news media for propaganda purposes. Given the widespread NSA surveillance of the domestic and international populations, is it realistic to believe that this is no longer implemented?

Operation Mockingbird was a large-scale program of the CIA that began in the early 1950s, It funded student and cultural organizations and magazines as front organizations.
The media network was overseen by CIA Director Allen Dulles, by which time Operation Mockingbird had major influence over 25 newspapers and wire agencies. The usual method was placing reports developed from intelligence provided by the CIA to cooperating or unwitting reporters. Those reports would be repeated or cited by the preceding reporters, which in turn would then be cited throughout the media wire services.

The back features a psychedelic version of our extruded neo-gothic Defy logo as a printed outside label. Ooooh!
